Polish forests are considered to be the real mushroom treasury, you can find there several thousands of different species (kinds). Picking mushrooms is one of the most popular customs in Polish tradition. Wealth of mushrooms in Polish forests could be the great attraction for those who come to Poland to hunt.
The start of fall means the start of the mushroom season. The best time to start hunting is early morning, around 6 o'clock, one of the reasons to start early is that mushrooms are hard to find later in the day because of the crowds of people visiting forests and trampling the undergrowth.
The most desired species such as Yellow Chanterelle, Lactarius sometimes called Milk-Caps and King Bolete grow during the fall, however some species can be found almost throughout the year from early spring to late fall.
The tour also includes brunch ( snack) in the clearing and dinner prepared from the mushrooms you have picked.
The cost of mushroom picking tour is 250 PLN per person (min.4 people)
