The Cracovia Academy of Polish Language and Culture have been founded by Piotr Jerzy Rytwinski in 2000.

Piotr was born and grew up in Etobicoke, Toronto, Canada. Upon graduating from Michael Power/St.Joseph's High School Piotr attended the university of Toronto, completing his studies with a Master of Health Science degree in 2001.

Piotr was born and grew up in Canada, but his fatherland was Poland. His love of his Polish cultural heritage led him to found and manage with his wife The Cracovia Academy of Polish Language and Culture.

He was completely devoted to his beloved town- Cracow. That is where he founded the Polish Language Academy, met his wife Izabela and finally decided to spend his life in. He was very proud of his polish roots. He loved the polish history with all his heart. He used to broaden his knowledge about polish tradition, culture and customs. He wanted to share all his polish experience with other nationalities. Promoting his native country was one of his essential goals. He was optimistic, lively, open-minded full of passion person. He had always tons of new ideas and his life was full of challenges he had always faced.

He pursued the number of the varied business interests. The one of them- particularly worth mentioning- was assisting in the research and development of a drug treatment for Alzheimer's disease. Most recently Piotr helped the Conservative Party of Canada reach out to ethnic communities and build the stronger understanding of issues that face new Canadians today.

Piotr passed away suddenly from complications resulting from heart problem on May 13th,2007 at the age of 36. He is desperately missed by his family and his friends from all over the world. His ashes were buried at the Salwator Cemetery in Cracow.
